When the Carolina Panthers signed Miles Sanders in March 2023, expectations were high for the former Pro Bowl running back. However, after two disappointing seasons, Sanders’ future with the team is now uncertain.

Potential Pay Cut

Panthers GM Dan Morgan confirmed that Brandt Tillis is in talks with Sanders’ agent about restructuring his contract for 2025. The move may involve a pay cut, given Sanders’ underperformance, rushing for just 205 yards in 11 games last season (3.7 YPC).

Reserve Role

With no clear backup behind Chuba Hubbard and limited options in free agency, Sanders could remain as a reserve running back. But only if he agrees to a reduced role at a lower salary.

Possible Release

If Sanders doesn’t accept the pay cut, Carolina might cut ties with him and explore the strong 2025 draft class for a new running back. The Panthers’ decision could shape their backfield for years to come.
