Coming off of an 8-9 season that had a rookie quarterback taking over in Week 16, and career years from young stars Bijan Robinson and Drake London, the Atlanta Falcons have an over/under of 7.5 wins for 2025, which is mainly accounted for by holes that have not been filled on defense yet.
With bottom five rankings in sacks and interceptions, it is true that the Falcons have had a fair share of bad defensive moments in 2024, but with the draft and questions being answered then, it is possible the defense can improve.
The Falcons are still looking to be able to fill some gaps on the edge, and they have been linked to multiple prospects that can put them over the top. They also have been linked to trading Kirk Cousins and getting rid of the contract, and also potentially being able to trade Kyle Pitts for a potential high draft pick.
Robinson and London are looking to produce even higher numbers with Michael Penix Jr. behind Center. They also will look to maintain a healthy Offensive line with multiple former Pro Bowlers, and if no Pitts trade can be made, they will look to use him as much as possible before he hits free agency next season.
If the defense gets fixed, and they produce at the level that they have produced before, there is little doubt that they will win at least eight games and make the playoffs this season, but with such a young and low experience team, there will be some big hurdles to jump this season.
