The Chicago Blackhawks' season is officially in the books after a thrilling 4-3 overtime win over the playoff-bound Ottawa Senators. Now that 2024-25 is complete, its time to shift the organizational focus to the offseason and an upcoming Calder Cup playoff birth for the Rockford IceHogs.

On Wednesday, the Blackhawks assigned defensemen Kevin Korchinski and Artyom Levshunov to the IceHogs for the upcoming playoff run. Ethan Del Mastro was sent down prior to the road trip, meaning he will help head the three-headed monster on the blue line. A playoff run of any meaningful length will be beneficial for the trio of young defensemen.

Korchinski received another cup of coffee with the Hawks at the end of the season. Over the full season, Korchinski recorded just two points (one goal, one assist) in 16 NHL games. That said, those two points came in the final two games he dressed for (Boston, Ottawa). As for Levshunov, the rookie averaged over 20 minutes of ice time in 18 games, banking six assists along the way as well. Unfortunately, Levshunov's play was overshadowed by the arrival of Sam Rinzel, who played incredibly well in nine NHL games.

In addition to the roster moves, the IceHogs made an addition of their own. According to the team, the IceHogs have signed goaltender Cameron Rowe. The contract is an amateur tryout (ATO).

Rowe was the starting goalie for the national champions, Western Michigan University. Rowe spent three seasons at WMU after two seasons at the University of Wisconsin.

Over his collegiate career, Rowe posted a 69-42-3 record in 123 games. The Wilmette, IL native also posted a 2.52 GAA and .907 save percentage during his five collegiate seasons. Following a national championship, the 23-year-old goalie joins the IceHogs.
