Have you ever seen a bumper sticker on a Ferrari? The Chicago Blackhawks will be doing the equivalent of that next season, as the franchise has reached a deal with Circa Sports to be the official jersey patch sponsor for the team's home red jerseys.
Chicago, meet @Circasports.

“Sports betting has continued to grow in popularity among our fans and offered new ways for them to engage with our game,” Blackhawks President of Business Operations Jaime Faulkner said. “We couldn’t be prouder to be adding Circa Sports to the Chicago Blackhawks roster of partners as they share in our goals to grow interest in our game and offer fans exciting and original experiences.”
Like it or not, jersey patch sponsorship appears to be the new direction of not only the NHL's jerseys but all professional sports jerseys in North America. Many other NHL teams have placed these sponsorship patches on their jerseys and the Blackhawks have already had one on their helmets.
The Blackhawks Indian-Head sweater is one of the most iconic jerseys in all of sports. Putting a sponsorship logo on the jersey does feel like you are watering that down. However, several other iconic franchises with historic jerseys have already added these as well. The Blackhawks will become the fifth Original Six franchise to add a sponsorship patch, leaving the New York Rangers as the only Original Six team without one.
One key aspect to note here is that as of now, these sponsorship logos will only be added to the home red jerseys for the Blackhawks. However, one could probably assume that the space on the away white jerseys is for sale and the Blackhawks will likely have an announcement coming for that sponsorship as well. Belle Tire will remain the team's official helmet sponsor.
