Brock Boeser has made no public decisions about his future with the Vancouver Canucks, but a tiny detail from a fan photo had the hockey world speculating about what could be next for the franchise and the player.
A viral image shared by user @manically_ on X on Tuesday appears to show a team-signed Canucks jersey on the passenger seat of Boeser's car—possibly meaning that the 27-year-old was preparing to say a final goodbye to the team on Wednesday's finale.
While a signed jersey is typically reserved for teammates moving on, Boeser ended the speculation while addressing the media before Wednesday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.
“Yeah,” Boeser said about bringing home a signed jersey, “for my girlfriend’s mom.”

That said, Boeser left the door open to all options as he enters the offseason with the Canucks not taking part on this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs.
“I mean, it's tough to say,” Boeser said. “We'll see what happens. Like I said, I'm sure they'll talk with my agent after the season and see if anything can come to an agreement or not.
”But yeah, I mean, there's definitely going to be (reflective) thoughts, and I'm going to just try and take it in with my teammates. You really never know at the end of the day, so I don't really want to fully think that it could be my last game.”
Contract negotiations have stalled over term with Boeser seeking a long-term deal, while the Canucks are unwilling to commit to that length.
General manager Patrik Allvin criticized Boeser earlier this year and again at the deadline, heightening speculation of an imminent departure.
Boeser ranks eighth in franchise history in goals (204) and 12th in points (230). The winger will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, coming off scoring 25 goals and 50 points in 75 games this season.
