ECHL: Toledo Walleye Announce 2024-25 Schedule

Today, the Toledo Walleye announced their 2024-25 schedule for the upcoming season, and they have a rough start, playing their first five games on the road. The first home game for the Walleye is November 1st against the Wheeling Nailers, the same team they swept in this year’s playoffs.

The season schedule has Toledo opening the season against the ECHL’s newest team, the Bloomington Bison, an ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers of the NHL. The Walleye will play Bloomington a total of 10 times this season and have a total of 53 division games this season, with 12 of those against division rival, the Cincinnati Cyclones.

The Walleye will play a couple of teams they do not see often. The Orlando Solar Bears, Norfolk Admirals, Wichita Thunder, and the Atlanta Gladiators will see Toledo for a few games. These games are out of the division and are teams they see for seven games throughout the season.

Toledo will join the Bison, Cyclones, Fort Wayne Komets, Indy Fuel, Iowa Heartlanders, and Kalamazoo Wings in the Western Conference’s Central Division.

The Toledo Walleye will be on the hunt for the Kelly Cup again in 2024-25, having been eliminated in the Western Conference Final against the Kansas City Mavericks four games to two. Look for the Walleye roster to be a different squad, as goaltender John Lethemon, along with forwards Jason Willms and Brady Gilmour, are heading overseas. Head Coach Pat Mikesch will be back behind the bench, looking to lead the Walleye to another successful season.
