The NHL has announced the start times and dates of all the round one games between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings. Unlike last year’s matchup, the Oilers will start this series on the road in LA and then return to Edmonton for games three, four, and, if needed, six.
Here’s how the series will break down:
All games will be broadcast live on Sportsnet in Canada, and CBC will have games two, three, and four.
Last year’s series against the Kings went five games, with the Oilers winning the first game, then losing to LA in overtime before taking the next three by a combined score of 11–4.
The year before that, it took six games, with the Kings taking a 2–1 series lead with two overtime wins before the Oilers took the next three.
In 2022, it took the Oilers the full seven games to beat the Kings, falling behind 3–2 before winning the next two, including the decisive seventh game.
Looking at the trend of going from seven to six to five games in the last three years, hopefully, the Oilers can win it in four straight.
