We tend to forget, but Carey Price's contract is still on the books for the Montreal Canadiens.

There is a question that many salary cap management experts have been asking since Price stopped playing.

Is his contract tradeable?

Does his contract have any value?

Kent Hughes did it with Shea Weber, so could he do the same with number 31?

Well, as reported by Raphaël Simard from Dans Les Coulisses, with this week's major NHL announcement and the massive salary cap increase in the coming years, Price's contract is becoming tradeable.

This could become an interesting tool for Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton.

It could be an option to consider.

"With the salary cap increase (potentially up to $95.5 million in 2025-2026), things could change, and the goalie's contract could become tradeable, according to Pierre LeBrun.
Simon 'Snake' Boisvert also discussed it in the latest episode of Processus."

The salary cap will increase, but so will the cap floor (and by a lot).

Some teams might need a contract like Carey Price's to comply with the new cap floor regulations.

Price, now 37 years old, is signed until 2026, and his contract carries a $10.5 million cap hit.
