The Los Angeles Kings snapped their two-game losing skid in emphatic style. On Sunday night, the Kings put on a show in front of their home fans at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, as they demolished the San Jose Sharks via a score of 8-1.

The victory improved Los Angeles' record in the 2024-25 NHL regular season to 41-23-9 for 91 points -- good for second in the Pacific Division. Moreover, Los Angeles now has 27 home wins on the season, a team record

Via the communications department of the Kings: "Tonight’s victory marked the Kings’ 27th win at @cryptocomarena this year to improve their home record to 27-4-4, setting a new franchise record for the most home wins in a single season."

The Kings won 26 home games in a season four times before, specifically in 1990-91, 2005-06, 2015-16 and 2022-23.

Los Angeles' offensive eruption versus the Sharks was more than a welcome sight for the Kings, who lost their previous two games to the Colorado Avalanche and the Toronto Maple Leafs via a combined score of 7-1.

The Kings dominated the Sharks game early, with Los Angeles scoring two goals in the first period to none by the visitors. Los Angeles outscored the Sharks in the second frame, 4-1 before adding two unanswered goals in the final period.

The Kings outshot San Jose, 36-23 and went 2-for-5 on the power play while going 3-for-3 in killing penalties.

Los Angeles still has six more home games left on their schedule, including a date this coming Tuesday with the Winnipeg Jets.
