Australian fighter mimics Raygun after win at UFC 305

In the UFC's lone pay-per-view event in Australia in 2024, the legend of Raygun was brought into the Octagon, much to the delight of the Aussie crowd.

Following her victory over Luana Santos on the prelims of UFC 305, Australian Casey O'Neill celebrated in the Octagon by mimicking Rachael Gunn's dance routine at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Gunn's performance was one of the most viral moments of the Olympics due to the criticism it received on social media.

Gunn was an Australian representative in the inaugural Olympic breakdancing competition but did not win a single matchup as a B-girl. Her performance has turned her into a meme on social media while many have outwardly questioned how she qualified for the competition.

Unfortunately, while the gags at Gunn's expense have spread like wildfire, the experience has been "devastating" for the dancer, who pleaded for fans to "stop" harassing her and her family on social media.

O'Neill, who was born in Scotland but has lived most of her life in Australia, picked up her first win in over two years. She entered the fight as the underdog to Santos despite being the No. 15 ranked contender in the women's flyweight division, marking the first time in her career that she was not the betting favorite. The win ended a two-fight losing streak that briefly halted her momentum as a hopeful contender.

As a former undefeated fighter, 'King' last got her hand raised in the Octagon in February 2022 with a split decision over former title challenger Roxanne Modafferi. The 26-year-old did not call for a specific opponent in her next fight but made it clear throughout fight week that she desires to begin her climb back to the top 10 of the division.
