Is Tiger Woods' golf career over after latest injury?

Tiger Woods is one of the greatest golfers ever. Unfortunately, a ruptured left Achilles tendon has left many wondering whether he can return to the green.

Woods is no stranger to injuries, having had multiple throughout his career. After a near-fatal 2021 car accident, Woods underwent numerous surgeries on his right leg, almost leading to amputation. He also had surgery on his back twice and on his ankle.

His latest injury occurred when he was training at home, and he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his left Achilles tendon that Woods later discovered was ruptured. Surgeons repaired the tendon and expect him to make a full recovery. However, the injury forced him to miss the 2025 Masters tournament.

It’s unclear how long it will be before Woods will be well enough to return, but a similar injury to 67-year-old golfer Bernhard Langer last year only took him off the green for three months. Although it’s unlikely Woods will return as quickly due to his extensive list of injuries.

While he hasn’t been a full-time golfer since 2021, many fans still enjoy seeing him on various courses. He’s only missed the Masters competition once since 2018 and recently intended to compete in the 2025 Genesis Invitational at Torrey Pines but withdrew after his mom passed away.

Only time will tell whether Woods returns to the course after his injury heals.
