Manchester United have already decided if they’re going to sign Sofyan Amrabat permanently at the end of the season.

The Fiorentina midfielder joined the Red Devils on a season-long loan after his stock rose following an impressive 2022 World Cup campaign with Morocco.

However, despite being expected to arrive at Old Trafford and bring high energy, as well as an improvement in defence, the 27-year-old has failed to impress in England’s top flight.

Struggling with injuries and fitness problems, the Fiorentina loanee has endured a tough six months at Old Trafford with his latest poor performance coming during Manchester City’s 3-1 derby win last weekend.

Consequently, according to a recent report from GiveMeSport , United’s hierarchy which now includes Sir Jim Ratcliffe following his recent successful investment, have decided against triggering Amrabat’s £21.4 million buy option once the summer transfer window opens.

During his time at Old Trafford, the Huizen-born midfielder has featured in 21 games in all competitions but has so far failed to score or register an assist. His contract with Fiorentina expires in 2025 but now set to return to Italy, the midfielder will be hoping fans forgive him for his recent spell in England.
