Tottenham are closely monitoring Manchester United star Marcus Rashford following Aston Villa revival

Tottenham Hotspur’s domestic woes continue as the Lilywhites suffered their 18th Premier League defeat of the season. The North London club were beaten 1-2 by Nottingham Forest at home on Monday night. This was also the first time that Spurs had lost eight home games in a single Premier League season. Ange Postecoglou’s side are on track to finish with the lowest points total in the club’s history in the PL era.

Spurs have struggled to get going domestically. Amidst all the highs in Europe, Ange’s men just cannot seem to hack the problems in domestic competitions. The Lilywhites might just finish the season a place above the relegation zone, which is far from ideal for Ange Postecoglou and his players. Potential success in the Europa League will not be enough for the Australian to save his job if the league form continues to drop.

It is very clear that the club needs a massive overhaul in the summer. The North London club needs to bring in fresh faces for next season, and Daniel Levy must make sure that underperforming players are sold early in the transfer window. The future of Ange Postecoglou is uncertain, so the club needs to make a decision regarding that quickly before proceeding to sign players in the summer.

Tottenham want to sign Marcus Rashford in the summer

Tottenham need to find solid replacements for outgoing players. With Timo Werner and Richarlison looking likely to head for an exit from N17, the Lilywhites will need to bring in fresh faces for next season. Club captain Heung-Min Son has also struggled to get going, and the South Korea international’s future remains uncertain as well.

As per Football Transfers, Spurs have reignited their interest in Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford. The Lilywhites are keeping an eye on his situation and will proceed with a deal if Aston Villa do not exercise the buy option in the summer. It is believed that Daniel Levy is keeping an eye on the talented winger’s situation at Villa Park.

The Man United academy graduate was out of favour at Old Trafford and was placed on the market in January. Aston Villa decided to take the England international on loan until the end of the season, with a buy option available in the summer for £40m. The Lilywhites were also interested in signing the 27-year-old in the winter, but opted against it and decided to bring in Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich.

Will Rashford fit in at Tottenham?

Marcus Rashford is relishing the change in environment ever since he departed M16. The England international was struggling in an inconsistent Manchester United team, and the loan deal to Aston Villa came at the right time for the 27-year-old. The explosive winger has been in tremendous form for the Villains since joining in January.

As per Sofascore, Rashford has scored four goals and provided five assists in 17 games for Unai Emery’s side since joining on loan. The Villa No.9 has also replaced the in-form Ollie Watkins in the starting eleven. The 27-year-old’s most recent goal contribution came against reigning champions Manchester City, thanks to a penalty he scored in his side’s 2-1 loss against Pep Guardiola’s team.

The Man United outcast would fit in perfectly at N17. His explosive pace, the ability to take on his man and his efficiency in front of the goal are exactly what Spurs are lacking from their wide players. Rashford can play on the wing and up to,p so that will be a bonus as well.
