Atletico Madrid have taken their total Argentinian contingent to six players in their current squad with the addition of goalkeeper Juan Musso . The 30-year-old has joined on a season-long loan from Atalanta in Serie A.
This deal comes after back-up goalkeeper Horatiu Moldovan left on loan from Sassuolo in search of minutes just six months after arriving at the club. Musso has two caps from Argentina and arrived for €20.5m at Atalanta in 2021, and after a first season as number one, has battled for the starting spot, but it appears they will lead with Marco Carnesecchi this coming season.

Musso is unlikely to feature too much for Atletico save for an injury to Jan Oblak. Two years ago, the Slovenian suffered from a back issue for multiple months, but was healthy last season. Diego Simeone tends not rotate his goalkeepers in the Copa del Rey either. Musso will be the third back-up goalkeeper in three years behind Oblak, after Ivo Grbic and then Moldovan.
