Cristiano Ronaldo Sparks Marriage Rumors At Awards Ceremony

For decades Cristiano Ronaldo has been professional soccer's most eligible bachelor, never marrying despite having a handful of high-profile relationships and fathering several children. But at a recent awards ceremony, he hinted that he may have already gotten married without any of us knowing.

Appearing at the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai with his partner Georgina Rodriguez, Ronaldo referred to her as "his wife" after being awarded a special trophy for his excellence.

"It’s a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife [Georgina] is here," Ronaldo said, via The Daily Mail. "She’s my lovely support all the time to carry on to play. In one month I’m gonna be 40 years old but I’m not finished yet.

"I will continue... because I want to win titles, I want to be a champion, I want to score more goals, I want to try to win for the (Portugal) national team."

As surprising as it is that Ronaldo would refer to Rodriguez as his wife, it really isn't surprising. She is the mother to two of his five children, born between 2017 and 2022, whereas Ronaldo has taken significant steps to conceal the identities of the mothers of his other three children.

Though this isn't exactly the first time that Ronaldo has hinted that he and Rodriguez are married either. He called her his wife in a YouTube video back in August

Ronaldo also referred to Rodriguez as his wife on the WHOOP podcast a while ago while making a casual mention of his morning routine:

"I take my coffee when I start my day. It's my routine..in the morning, I take my coffee, speak with my kids, with my wife and start the day," he said.

No doubt investigators are going to be frantically trying to find proof of the marriage through some sort of legal documentation somewhere in the world because if they have gotten married they did an excellent job of hiding it from the rest of the world.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together since 2016, back when he was still playing at Real Madrid. He currently plays for Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia.
