Lautaro Martinez is expected to miss Argentina’s game against Uruguay with a muscular problem, but the Inter striker hopes to recover to face Brazil.
The centre-forward has not been participating in the full training sessions with La Seleccion ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
He had already been suffering from some muscular issues over the last week at Inter and these intensified following the trip to South America.
According to TyC Sports, Lautaro Martinez will not be part of the Argentina squad for Friday night’s clash against Uruguay.
However, he will remain with the group and hope to recover in time to feature against old rivals Brazil on Wednesday.
The 27-year-old has scored 18 goals with six assists in 39 competitive games so far this season for the Nerazzurri.
Inter have already seen Marcus Thuram return to base after an ankle knock ruled him out for France, while Federico Dimarco was not included in the Italy squad due to a muscular problem.
