Mike Maignan underwent extra tests today that found no complications from the concussion suffered against Udinese, but the Milan goalkeeper will still be forced to rest.

The France international was briefly knocked out cold in a collision with teammate Alex Jimenez during the 4-0 Milan victory at the Bluenergy Stadium on Friday evening.

He was kept in hospital overnight for observation and released the next morning.

Maignan tests show no complications

Multiple sources reported Maignan was back at hospital today for a check-up and CT scan, which ruled out any further complications.

Nonetheless, as per the concussion protocol, he will be asked to rest for a few more days.

It remains to be seen if he will be risked for this Sunday’s Serie A showdown with Atalanta, or kept on the bench to be at his best for the Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Inter.

That tie is scheduled for Wednesday April 23, after the first leg ended 1-1.
