The 25 best European soccer kits

Soccer teams want to play well on the pitch, but it’s also nice to look good. Funnily enough, maybe some of the best European soccer clubs also look the part. Here are 25 of the best soccer kits out there, in no particular order. Also, we kept it to one kit per club. We didn’t need, say, three Roma looks in the top 25, though they easily could have placed there. These days, football clubs change their looks up like normal people change their socks, so by the time you read this there may have already been changes to a team's kits.

Roma

Like we said, Roma has three great looks. However, the one we want to showcase is the away kit. There is a lightning bolt on the jersey, and it works. Try to make that happen outside of Tampa Bay’s hockey team.

PSG

PSG has a ton of money, but they also have a few top-notch looks. The best of the bunch is the away look, which is a bright, striking shade of…orange? Pink? We can’t quite place our finger on it. We just know we love it.

Arsenal

What’s with all the great away looks? Arsenal’s home kit is classic, but the away kit is even better. Some call it the “bruised banana” look. We just call it awesome.

Leicester City

Yes, another away kit. Leicester’s home look is a striking shade of blue, but it has some weird pattern on it. The away look, though, is a nice mix of a salmon pink with black striping, plus a stripe pattern across the chest that really works.

Manchester City

Man City’s third uniform is an interesting one; some may call it the best of the bunch. However, we’re still partial to the home kit. There’s something about that shade of blue with the purple shoulders we’re into.

Barcelona

Barcelona’s classic look is untouchable. Usually, it’s their best kit. This year, though, they added a new away kit for the 40th anniversary. It’s a pretty simple look, which is hard to do on a European soccer jersey. The classic colors are there in a sash across the chest that pops.

Juventus

Don’t mess with a classic. Juventus has won the Italian league eight times in a row (and they have Cristiano Ronaldo). They’ve done it while wearing their iconic black-and-white jersey that is one of the best looks in Europe to this day.

The yellow and black work great together, but it’s the socks that really make the look. Hey, it’s all part of the kit, and that includes the striped socks. Yellow and black just work great together. Bees know it, and so do we.

RB Leipzig

There are snobby soccer fans who will object to any jersey with the Red Bull logo on it. We aren’t in that camp. In fact, we actually kind of like the logo on the center of the jersey as well as the white-and-red home look. There’s a touch of faint gray striping that gives the white top a little more energy than a plain white look would.

For the first time on this list, we have to give the nod to a third kit. That means you should enjoy it while you can, because it probably won’t be around long. Still, for now, the teal-on-blue look really pops, especially on a soccer pitch.

Burnley

Burnley’s home kit is nice, but we prefer the flipped colors of the away uniform. It’s baby blue with maroon lettering, but the thing we particularly like is the matching blue shorts as opposed to the white used at home.

Celtic

Celtic

Celtic’s home look has largely been the same for years. There’s a good reason for that. The green-and-white stripes of the jersey top look great. Plus, Celtic’s badge is as good as any. The Scottish league doesn’t get a ton of love, but these uniforms do.

Lyon

Since PSG became a big-money squad, Lyon has sort of fallen by the wayside in France. However, they still have a great look. Yes, it’s pretty much just dark blue with black pinstripes, but the white and red accents make it all pop. Inexplicably, we couldn't find a single photo of Lyon in this kit, but the classic white isn't a bad look either.

AC Milan

Milan’s no longer the darlings of Italian soccer, but they still have one of the best jerseys in the world. The black-and-red stripes look great. Plus, the logos and badge are pretty unobtrusive, which allows for the stripes to stand out even more.

Ajax

The giants of Dutch soccer are getting some attention here. You think of Ajax in white and red, but if we’re being honest we love this season’s away look. Sure, they may look more like the Miami Dolphins than Ajax, but it’s an awesome kit anyway.

Inter Milan

We honored AC Milan’s traditional home kit, and we could do the same with Inter, their heated rival. Instead, though, we’re shouting out the away kit. The color is described as “aquamarine.” We just know it looks great, and it makes the badge really pop.

Hearts

We’re going back to Scotland for Hearts’ home uniform. It’s a nice purple color with some business to the jersey to make it more dynamic. Plus, like Celtic, they have a truly excellent badge.

Aston Villa

It’s always good to have Villa in the Premier League, because that home kit is a beautiful one. They are maroon with baby blue sleeves, and then they add some striking blue socks to make the look even better.

West Ham United

The Hammers have a similar home look to Aston Villa, in terms of colors. However, they have the entire shoulder portion of their new uniforms dedicated to the baby blue, minus some maroon stripes. We also like that the wine red color extends to the shorts and the socks.

Werder Bremen

Bremen’s jersey is basically just green, but it’s a color of green that is distinct enough to stand out. However, in terms of sponsor logos, the German squad may have the best. The smart choice was made to make it just white and green, like the jersey itself, so it doesn’t stick out in an unpleasant way.

Celta Vigo

OK, so apparently we really like a maroon red and a baby blue together. Celta Vigo uses that color palate as well. We prefer the home kits, which are mostly blue with maroon stripes on the sides. Also, the white shorts actually work with these tops.

Real Betis

The Spanish side has been rocking the green-and-white stripes forever. The back of the home kits aren’t fully striped, which isn’t ideal. However, from the front these are some of the best uniforms Spain has to offer.

Sporting Libson

Weirdly, Sporting Lisbon also have green and white stripes. Unlike Betis, though, Sporting has horizontal stripes, and the stripes are chunkier as well. They also wear black shorts with the home kit. It’s not the most exciting color, but it does make the jerseys stand out more.

Hull City

We’re dipping down into the second level of English soccer. Hull City are known as the Tigers, and that’s evident when you see their kits. They aren’t just orange and black, but they also have a tiger stripe motif at the top of the jersey.

Blackburn Rovers

Blackburn’s home kits have a simple two-toned light blue and white jersey split right down the middle. Then, there's that badge. The Rovers have what is perhaps the best badge in the world, and it deserves to stand out. The red numbers on the back are also a nice touch.
