Dion Agius Collapses Lung While Snowboarding, Slapped With $30K Hospital Bill

Freesurfing wiz, Modern Collective star, Former team rider and begrudging artist Dion Agius was severely injured last week while snowboarding during a Swiss art show. He fell on a patch of ice and slammed chest-first, collapsing a lung and requiring emergency surgery at a local hospital.

“Got a bit too excited to be finally snowboarding again after four years and got smoked catching a rail first day in and somehow managed to land on the iciest patch on the mountain straight on my chest,” Dion said on Instagram.

Dion spent four days hooked up to a machine, circulating air out of his body. Though he said the treatment was "5 star", there were some hefty strings attached. Unfortunately, his travel insurance won’t cover the $30,000 bill he incurred, according to Dion. In an effort to get out of the financial hole, Dion is selling some of his prints he made in Switzerland before his injury.
