The world Elder Scrolls: Oblivion has a message they would like to share with the masses, starting out with, Rejoice all ye who enter the realm of Cyrodiil, for the sky shall soon be clearer and the wind henceforth will be crisper, for the official remake of the game has been confirmed. Soon we will see Tamriel in a completely new light, at least as far as this game is concerned, which, seeing as this game was released back in 2006, a refresher is rather appreciated.

First, a Little History

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion was one of the most popular Skyrim games back in the day, winning the game of the year award in 2006, and it runs much like Skyrim does now, with its open world and NPC side quest system. The plot was a big focus in this game, as you fight a cult trying to open the gates to, shockingly, Oblivion. Why they think that’s a good idea, I’ve no idea, and I’m not buying it, no, I don’t care, Mankar, find a therapist, thank you very much. This tighter gameplay did wonders for the series and opened the door for Skyrim as most know it.

So, What Should We Expect Here?

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion is going to have quite the massive overhaul with improvements to the UTI and performance, now able to run at 60 frames per second and  4K resolution something that will make a significant improvement to the game’s 2006 graphics, new dialogue options and character creation enhancements showing off new origins and deeper cultural understandings to give our big juicy brains more to roleplay with in game. They were also kind enough to give us better lip sync technology, while I will miss the lag, this might draw me in just a bit more.

Something to Look Forward To

With this confirmation the game gets to breathe new life into a game that made missions long for a fantasy world far far away, set in motion the dreams of many young, DND hopefuls and made parents wonder why the cat was getting far more side eyes then it used to and while sure, Oblivion may not be the first game that people think of in the the elder scoll series it deserves it’s time in the spotlight for all the work it’s done to keep the series solid. Hopefully, the release will be soon. You heard me, Mankar. You heard me.
