Destiny 2: How to Obtain Alethonym Exotic

Alethonym is an Exotic Grenade Launcher that has Stasis affinity. However, this Exotic is unique because it takes Primary Ammo. This makes it the second Grenade Launcher of the type and the first to have Stasis affinity. Having unlimited ammo already makes this one of the strongest Exotics in Destiny 2. This weapon comes with the Intrinsic Trait called Harvester Spike. This allows the gun to fire a Harvester Spike projectile.

Dealing final blows with the projectiles creates a Vestige Orb while impaling more powerful combatants with the projectiles creates a steady stream of Vestige Orbs. These Vestiges Orbs tie to the Exotic perk called Vestigial Alchemy. It allows Alethonym to gain energy when picking up Vestige Orbs. Gaining energy fills the bar up and unlocks a special firing mode, allowing it to create Special Ammo or Heavy Ammo bricks. When the bar is half filled, this weapon can be used to create a Special Ammo. Filling the bar also allows the weapon to create Heavy Ammo bricks, which are quite useful.

How to Obtain

Alethonym is a Season Pass weapon and hence drops from the battle pass. If the players have unlocked the premium version of the pass, players can collect this Exotic immediately at level 1. They are not required to do anything and just collect the Exotic. If a player does not own the battle pass, then he can also collect the Exotic by progressing to level 40. This progress is made by earning experience through:

• Completing Seasonal challenges as they offer the highest amount of experience.
• Completing bounties from various vendors and characters.
• Completing various activities and killing combatants grants a small amount of experience.
• Completing paths in the Pathfinder also grants experience.

Exotic Catalyst

Seasonal Exotics also have a Catalyst and Alethonym is no exception. This Exotic Catalyst can be obtained once players have reached level 140 of the battle pass. This can only be achieved in the second act of Revenant, which is set to release 40 days after the launch of Act 1. The Catalyst also requires 500 kills with Alethonym to be unlocked. The Exotic Catalyst for the weapon is One for All. It allows the weapon to gain a 35 percent damage boost for 10 seconds when dealing damage to three combatants in a short time window. Since this weapon is a Primary Ammo weapon, this perk synergizes well since a 35 percent damage boost is no joke.
