Today is WNBA star Caitlin Clark's 23rd birthday, and the Indiana Fever guard is celebrating by giving back.

Clark announced a partnership with Scholastic's United States of Readers program to donate 22,000 books to underserved schools, focusing on the states of Iowa and Indiana. The 22,000 figure is obviously a nod to Clark's No. 22. According to SoundOFF13's Keith Murphy, the Caitlin Clark Foundation will distribute the books to "elementary and middle schools, children's hospitals, and other non-profit organizations."

"Reading and education have always been hugely important in my life. I remember picking out the books from the Scholastic flyer and how empowering that was for me as a child, and how motivated I was to read," Clark said in a statement. "I want to help kids have the same experience, to develop their reading skills and open their imaginations to dream big. I am thrilled that my foundation will support reading as Literacy Champions by collaborating with Scholastic and the United States of Readers."

This is obviously a fantastic philanthropic move on Clark's part, and the 2024 WNBA Rookie of the Year is getting a lot of social media love because of it.

"This is the best. she's the best," one Clark fan account wrote.

"Always thinking of others. An amazing human," another person said.

"My goat always shares her blessings," another Clark fan account said.

"This type of news is amazing to see on the timeline," a fourth person chimed in.

"This lady is a star on and off of the court," a fifth person said.

Because of her prodigious basketball talents, Clark has become a hero and role model to many throughout America. It's good to see she wants to have an impact away from the game as well.

We'd like to wish Clark a happy birthday and say we're looking forward to seeing what she has in store during the upcoming 2025 WNBA season.

The sky is the limit.
