During her time at Iowa, Caitlin Clark became a big-time basketball star. In her four seasons there, she led Division I women's basketball in scoring and assists three times, and she ended her career as the NCAA's all-time leading scorer among both women and men.
She made her way to the WNBA's Indiana Fever last season, where she was named the Rookie of the Year. She has gotten lots of credit for the explosion in popularity that women's basketball has experienced over the past year or so, and it has made her a celebrity.
But in an interview with Laura Rutledge that took place during the Masters earlier this month, Clark said that despite her newfound fame, she still does one mundane regular activity herself — grocery shopping.
“I still go to the grocery store, I still buy my own groceries, I still do all of that… and I don’t think people always realize that,” Clark said.
Glamour pulled up to the Net Jet talk at the Masters with Caitlin Clark, where she sat down with Laura Rutledge:

Celebrities like Clark often aren't able to perform routine errands such as grocery shopping because they get bugged by fans wanting autographs or selfies. But she said she still feels like a normal person, even though she's probably one of the biggest female celebrities in the nation.
As a rookie with the Fever, she averaged 19.2 points and 5.7 rebounds while leading the WNBA with 8.4 assists a game in 2024. She shot just 41.7% from the field and committed 5.6 turnovers a game, which means she has tons of room for improvement -- a scary prospect for the rest of the league.
Because of her ability to hit contested 3-pointers off the dribble, facilitate and get open teammates the basketball, she has been compared by some to Stephen Curry, the Golden State Warriors superstar who is considered arguably one of the 10 greatest NBA players of all time.
