After the Chicago Sky traded their No. 3 pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, they are now left with just one pick in the first round of the annual rookie selection. Interestingly, they have an interesting choice for that pick that will excite Angel Reese.
The Sky own the No. 10 pick in the draft, which they acquired after trading Marina Mabrey to the Connecticut Sun during the 2024 season. They gave up their No. 3 pick this year in a deal for Ariel Atkins with the Washington Mystics.
With the No. 10 pick, however, Bleacher Report believes the Sky could land TCU Horned Frogs star and Reese's former LSU Tigers teammate Hailey Van Lith.
When the college basketball season started, Van Lith wasn't considered to be a first-round material after her down season with LSU. However, with TCU, she recaptured her old form from her Louisville Cardinals days and had one of the best seasons of her collegiate career.
Van Lith averaged 17.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.2 steals per game, while shooting a career-best 45.9 percent from the field. With HVL leading the way, TCU won the Big 12 Tournament title.
According to the Bleacher Report mock draft, Van Lith could join Chicago and learn from Courtney Vandersloot, who returned to the Sky this offseason after winning the 2024 title with the New York Liberty.
Explaining why the TCU guard is a first-round draft pick, the report noted that "Van Lith's stock has been on the rise all season after playing in a pro pick-and-roll system that has showcased her abilities like we haven't seen before."
"Van Lith has the leadership qualities, a pro-ready mentality and poise that will translate to the WNBA," the mock draft stated.
It remains to be seen if the Sky will actually end up picking Hailey Van Lith, but it will certainly be interesting to see her and Angel Reese play together again, this time under a different system.
