TIME Magazine named WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever their 2024 Athlete of the Year. Clark shared a photo of herself on the magazine's cover to Instagram as countless athletes, celebrities and women across all walks of life flooded the comment section with congratulations, appreciation, support and love.

U.S. tennis champion Coco Gauff, U.S. skier and Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn, former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Gabbie Marshall, golfer Michelle Wie West , WNBA star from the New York Liberty Sabrina Ionescu, Phoenix Mercury veteran Natasha Cloud, Kristin Juszczyk, Fever teammate Katie Lou Samuelson were just some of the thousands who left comments and well-wishes for Clark.

In 2024, Clark was the No. 1 overall pick of the Fever in WNBA draft. She won WNBA Rookie of the Year, was named WNBA All-Star and a member of the All-WNBA First Team. Clark led the WNBA in assists.

Clark's appearance on the All-WNBA First Team was the first for a rookie since Candace Parker in 2008.

Clark and the Fever finished the season 20-20 and were the WNBA's No. 6 seed. They lost to the Connecticut Sun in the first round.

Her rookie season wasn't without controversy. At one point in early September, Clark had drawn 17% of the league's flagrant fouls as some players seemed to play against her with a chip on their shoulder.
