PHOENIX — Prime Video announced Friday the upcoming release of Taurasi, a three-part docuseries that will focus on the life and career of one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all time.

Taurasi will provide an in-depth look at the basketball icon’s journey, from her rise as a national champion at UConn to her 20-year reign as the face of the Phoenix Mercury. The docuseries will be highlighted by exclusive interviews with Taurasi herself, as well as her relatives, teammates, coaches, and others who witnessed her rise to the top.

Over her storied career, Taurasi became the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer, a 10-time All-Star, and a three-time champion, cementing herself as one of the most decorated players in league history. She also won five Olympic gold medals and dominated on the international stage, further solidifying her global impact on the game.

The documentary will also explore Taurasi’s off-the-court influence, including her role as a mother, mentor, and advocate for the growth of women’s basketball. While an official release date has yet to be announced, Taurasi is expected to provide fans with a deep dive into the mindset, legacy, and influence of one of the sport’s most iconic figures.

The series is being produced in partnership with Prime Video Sports, Skydance Sports, Meadowlark Media, and The Institute, with Katie Bender Wynn serving as the director.

Following her retirement, Taurasi has remained in the spotlight, continuing her presence in basketball as a broadcaster on The Bird & Taurasi Show. With women’s basketball experiencing unprecedented visibility, Taurasi will serve as a timely tribute to a player who helped shape the sport’s future.
