The WNBA has raised its profile in the American sports consciousness over the last year, turning several players into household names and emerging as one of the fastest growing pro sports in the country.
Chicago Sky star Angel Reese is one of those household names. Reese emerged on the national scene at LSU, as she helped the Tigers win their first ever national championship in 2023.
One year later, the Sky selected her with the seventh overall pick. Before her debut season was cut short due to a wrist injury, Reese was an All-Star and led the league in rebounding.
Before the 2025 season begins, Reese is playing in Miami with the Unrivaled basketball league. She's also expanding her endorsement portfolio, as McDonald's unveiled a new menu item in collaboration with Reese.
On February 10, fans can order the "Angel Reese Special" at McDonalds. The meal includes a BBQ Bacon Quarter Pounder with Cheese, fries and a drink.

"McDonald's has always been a huge part of my life," Reese said after the collaboration was revealed.
"Being the first female athlete to have my own meal feels like a dream come true. I hope the Angel Reese Special inspires young athletes to never give up on their dreams."
"We're excited to fuel basketball fans' love for the game and support athletes on and off the court. Partnering with Angel is just the beginning," said Jennifer "JJ" Healan, McDonald's VP of Marketing, Brand, Content & Culture.
As Reese mentioned, she is the first female athlete to have a collaboration of this magnitude with McDonald's, joining names like Michael Jordan, K-pop group BTS and rapper Travis Scott.
"I've always wanted my partnerships to reflect who I am, and McDonald's feels so authentic to me," the Chicago Sky star added.
"From grabbing a McChicken after games growing up to knowing how connected they are to hoops culture, this was a perfect fit. As a McDonald's All-American, this partnership feels like it was meant to be. They see me for who I am—strong, confident, and unapologetically myself."
The future seems bright for Reese as one of the stars of the league, and she's on track to become an even bigger name ahead of her second WNBA season.
