With the recent WNBA Draft now in the books, A’ja Wilson recounts being a no. 1 draft pick in the draft with some high expectations.

Those were the days. Now Wilson is a Bonafide global superstar for the Las Vegas Aces and the league’s reigning MVP. Recently, Wilson shared her thoughts on the new talent, Dallas rookie Paige Bueckers.

Leading up to the 2025 WNBA Draft, all eyes were on Bueckers during her last season at UConn and throughout her national championship run. Most assumed that Bueckers was a shoe in for the no. 1 pick in the draft.

During a recent interview on the “Sports Seriously”, Wilson was asked what she liked most about Bueckers.

Wilson detailed how she admitted her poise on and off the court.

“Her composure,” Wilson said. “She plays like with a sense of I’ve been here before. Whether it’s a championship game or it’s the first game of the season, her composure is something that has really stuck with me and how she just carries herself on an off the court is just gonna go so far.”

The Dallas Wings had the second-worst record in the WINBA last season.

With an increase in immense talent, the Dallas Wings look to make a successful run at turning around their franchise.
