DiJonai Carrington is still adjusting to her new reality as a Dallas Wings player after spending her entire WNBA career with the Connecticut Sun.

The 2024 Most Improved Player shared her feelings about the move, calling it "crazy" to see herself in a different uniform but expressing gratitude and excitement for the next chapter.

On Instagram, Carrington posted a photo of herself wearing the Wings' jersey for the first time.

"Not gonnnaaa yieeeee, it's sooooo crazy seeing myself in a different uniform but I'm sooooo ready, grateful and blessed to enter this chapter of my life," she wrote.

Meanwhile, the Dallas Wings introduced their new player on X with two photos of Carrington in her new gear.

"Ain't this what y'all been waiting for?" they captioned.

Carrington’s transition comes after she played a crucial role for the Sun last season. However, following a major roster shake-up, the Sun decided to part ways with her in a four-team trade that landed her in the Wings.

Carrington had a breakout season in 2024, averaging 12.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

Carrington’s two-way impact on the court was a major factor in her earning the Most Improved Player award and she also finished fourth in Defensive Player of the Year voting.

Now with the Wings, Carrington is ready to continue her rise in the WNBA. Her defensive skills and ability to score will be crucial as the Wings look to bounce back from an injury-riddled 2024 campaign and make a deep playoff run in 2025.
