Throughout 2024, AEW has dealt with a string of injuries to top talent. Some of the roster's biggest names, including Adam Copeland, Adam Cole, MJF, Eddie Kingston and Kenny Omega, have missed extended periods.
On Saturday, during the "Worlds End" pay-per-view, both Copeland and Omega made their comebacks. Their returns will significantly boost AEW programming, as they were among the bigger names to remain on the injury list.
Similarly, MJF returned to the company after a spell in Hollywood, where he filmed "Happy Gilmore 2." Now, outside of Kingston, the AEW men's division is back to full strength. Earlier this year, Tony Khan acquired some of the best free-agent talent on the market. Yet, due to an unfortunate string of injuries, we've been forced to wait to see what a stacked AEW roster looks like.

The return of so many top stars couldn't have come at a better time. AEW will begin its new era of streaming live on MAX in January and can now offer some of the world's most talented wrestlers to a wealth of potential new viewers.

It will also be interesting to see whether a full-strength roster — one that is also welcoming back Julia Hart, Jamie Hayter and Toni Storm — can help turn around the company's current rating slump.
In recent months, AEW has struggled with both television and live audiences. However, a switch to smaller venues has made a huge difference, with a more engaged crowd and better atmosphere, even when watching at home.
Missing multiple top-level talents was always going to hurt AEW. Yet, when those absences stretch into multiple months, it's easy to forget the company was operating short-handed. As such, 2025 could be an important year for the company, especially if everybody can stay healthy and the creative department can create some compelling storylines.
For now, though, AEW fans have multiple reasons to be excited. Let's hope it stays that way.
