She came in to a lot of fanfare, but has settled into an unexpected role-so will Ava Raine ever wrestle in WWE again?

When we heard that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter was going to try her hand at her dad’s former day job, there were mixed thoughts and feelings. Surely she got the door opened because of her famous family. But she was going to train and work her way in, just like anyone else should. Except, her first couple years in the business have been anything other than typical.

WWE

She did her training and debuted as a wrestler in NXT in 2022. Primarily she worked as part of Joe Gacy’s Schism group. While she didn’t look bad or out of place, she only wrestled a few times. But fans are quite familiar with her work, as she was positioned as the new general manager for NXT. Ava was set up for the spot by a fan favorite, former GM William Regal, shortly after his triumphant return to WWE.

So will Ava Raine ever wrestle in WWE again?

If we listen to the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer, he does not think so. Of course, it is simply one man’s opinion. And when that one man is Meltzer, take things with a grain of salt. But, for his view of things, he believes that Ava Raine is being prepared for a bigger role on the main roster as a future authority figure. The timing on that could be interesting, considering that as of this moment, both RAW and SmackDown have some of the best general managers of those shows that we’ve ever enjoyed.

It’s certainly an interesting spin on things. Not many general manager types are groomed from their early 20’s to do that job. Of course, Ava Raine is not like many other talents. Perhaps she doesn’t have dear old dad’s in ring capabilities, but she is cool on camera. We know where she got that from.
