The final SmackDown before WrestleMania will feature Cody Rhodes.
During Raw, it was announced that in addition to John Cena being in Las Vegas this Friday, Rhodes will also be at the T-Mobile Arena. The two are set to headline the second night of WrestleMania this Sunday.
Since viciously attacking Rhodes at Elimination Chamber, Cena has done an about face, lashing out at the fans for berating him all these years when he tried everything in his power to win their approval. He has since promised to win the title from Rhodes at WrestleMania and retire as champion, taking the belt with him when he has his final match in December.
On last week’s SmackDown, Cody Rhodes cut a promo with various former WWE Championship belts, including John Cena’s spinner belt he held in the mid-to-late 2000s. He told Cena that the fans are allowed to love somebody else and at WrestleMania, the WWE Championship is staying with us, referring to himself and the fans.
