ESPN FPI Predicts College Football Upset on Friday

The 2024 college football season is soon coming to an end, with a majority of programs heading into their final game of the year in Week 14.

While many fans have their eyes set on the Saturday slate, with some major rival games on the horizon, such as Texas versus Texas A&M and Auburn versus Alabama, there are also plenty of matchups set for Friday.

One of the most intriguing matchups on Friday features a game between the Liberty Flames and Sam Houston Bearkats.

The Flames are headed into Week 14 as a 3-point favorite, per ESPN BET.

Despite the betting lines favoring Liberty, ESPN's Matchup Predictor, which takes into account team statistics and schedule, believes the Bearkats will upset the Flames.

The ESPN Matchup Predictor is currently giving Sam Houston a 58% chance to win the game, seemingly picking the upset in Week 14.

The Bearkats enter Week 14 with a respectable 8-3 record, which includes a 5-2 record in the Conference USA.

Sam Houston has won three of its last four games, suffering a 21-11 loss to Jacksonville State in Week 13.

While they're fresh off a loss, the Bearkats are still fighting for a spot in the Conference USA title game, so they're certainly playing for a cause on Friday.

The Bearkats are competing with the Western Kentucky and Liberty for a chance to play in the conference title game.
