  • WWE reportedly eager to keep Karrion Kross under contract despite lack of in-ring use.
  • Kross excels in character storytelling and connecting with fans outside the ring.
  • WWE may extend Kross's contract in hopes of giving him a more substantial program.

According to a report from Fightful Select, WWE superstar Karrion Kross is reportedly nearing the end of his contract. It's not clear if WWE and Kross are in talks to sign an extension, but speculation suggests his deal will expire in the summer of 2025.

Will WWE Keep Karrion Kross?

While WWE has not officially confirmed the reports, sources suggest the company is looking to keep Kross under contract. There are many within the company who report WWE is happy with Kross’s impact outside the ring, even if he's not been used much in a wrestling capacity, and his factionmates in Final Testament were all released earlier this year. Sources cite his ability to get over with fans through social media and in backstage segments, even if he doesn't have a consistent program and his rivalries seem to come and go with little closure.

Despite WWE's failure to consider how to use him creatively, Kross has somehow managed to continue compelling storytelling on Monday Night Raw.

Alongside his real-life wife, Scarlett, Kross is known for his intense character and intricate storytelling. He's the third wheel in many WWE rivalries, but he somehow adds to them, which is a skill not many WWE talents possess. Kross has not wrestled in a televised WWE match in 2025 but was recently utilized in a WWE Main Event taping before Raw in London, where he notably used his old entrance theme.

Does WWE See They Have A Unique Talent On Their Hands?

Despite limited in-ring action, WWE officials like how Kross has continuously embraced the roles given to him, using every opportunity—big or small—to make the most of the time he's given. Whether through promos, social media videos, or other teams, he's getting himself over. That has earned him respect backstage.

Unlike some wrestlers who view limited television time as a setback, Kross approaches every assignment as an opportunity. If he ever gets a real one, there is some belief he could knock it out of the park. The question becomes whether WWE sees him as anything more than a personality thrown into short segments.

While his future with WWE remains uncertain, it is believed the two sides will find common ground on an extension. The hope is that a new deal will motivate WWE to finally give Kross a program he can run with.
