Wrestling fans may not want to hear this, but Roman Reigns won't be competing in the ring for much longer.
Reigns has been the best wrestler the WWE has had for the past several years. His recent WWE Universal Championship reign was the talk of the company, especially since he held the belt for 1,316 days. Even when he dropped the belt to Cody Rhodes, he remained the top draw for the company due to all the fractions within his stable, The Bloodline.
With WrestleMania 41 set for this weekend, Reigns sat down with Vanity Fair to discuss his future in the WWE. Some of the comments he made will probably make his fans quite sad.
Reigns, 39, revealed that he'll keep wrestling for only a few more years before calling it quits.
"After I finish the contract that I’m in, we probably got another year or two max," Reigns said. "Then it’s time to take on a less physical form of entertainment."
As things currently stand, it sounds like the WWE will only have Reigns for three or four more years at best.
Vanity Fair noted that Reigns has received a handful of movie scripts over the years but hasn't accepted many roles due to his busy schedule with the WWE. That could change once his contract is up. However, he'll be selective with his work.
"I almost want to model it after Tarantino, where we’re not just doing anything and everything," the future WWE Hall of Famer added. "I want to really plot out: I want this one, I want that one."
After reading these comments from Reigns, all we can say is that WWE fans should appreciate him while he's still competing in the ring.
Reigns will take on CM Punk and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match this Saturday for night one of WrestleMania 41.
