Working another WrestleMania singles match is among the goals that Otis has for his WWE career.
While being interviewed on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, the 32-year-old Otis outlined the goals he has in pro wrestling, also listing a title run and a “big match” against his mentor-turned-rival Chad Gable as things he wants to accomplish.
“Definitely that singles match at WrestleMania,” Otis said. “I mean, everyone talks about the title. For me it’s basically — probably a big match with Gable hopefully would be cool.”
Otis did get to have a WrestleMania moment when he defeated Dolph Ziggler in a singles match and kissed Mandy Rose at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, but the show did not take place in front of fans due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Otis called that experience “bittersweet” since the moment did not get to happen in front of a crowd.
After Gable turned heel earlier this year, Otis stood up for himself and his Alpha Academy stablemates against Gable, who now leads a new faction called American Made with The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile.
Otis told Van Vliet that getting to face Bray Wyatt is a goal he had before Wyatt’s tragic passing. Otis thinks they would have tore the house down against each other.
“Obviously having that big title win would be nice,” Otis said. “But, for me, doing what I love to do has just basically been a blessing for me.”
