Raw After WrestleMania 41 Recap

The Raw after WrestleMania 41 has come and gone. I would say that as far as surprises go Raw was way better than WrestleMania 41. That hurt me to say, but when I saw John Cena get RKO’ed by Randy Orton, two of my favorite childhood wrestlers. The surprises did not stop there. There were countless other surprises as well. The action never stopped last night so get ready for a Raw recap on Total Apex Media.

First Half Of Raw

The show started with John Cena coming down to the ring forcing the ring announcer to keep repeating that he is the “last real champion.” Cena would then speak only to continue to trash fans saying they only hijack the Raw after WrestleMania and mocking the fans as they cheer for him. The fans would start to chant “We are sorry” only after Cena told them they owed him an apology. The only thing is Cena would claim they were chanting “We aren’t sorry.”

Cena would then point to the stage where it read 36 dates. He would begin to name the cities he already went to counting down to 27 dates left. This meant he would only have to appear at 27 more shows. Then he would take home the WWE Title with him to ruin wrestling for everyone. Cena would then say no one can compete with him as the last real champion. Randy Orton would appear to RKO Cena in the middle of the ring, reigniting an old rivalry. Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez would win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships for a fourth time.

They invoked their rematch clause one day after WrestleMania 41 Morgan would hit Oblivion on Valkyria to get the win. Lynch returned to the ring to help Valkyria to her feet only to deliver a clothesline. She would not stop there, delivering two Manhandle Slams only to deliver a third one after chants from the crowd of  “one more time.” The New Day would come out to cut a promo on winning the World Tag Titles only to be interrupted by Alpha Academy to talk their way into a title shot which New Day agreed on.

Then Rusev’s music would hit. He came down to destroy Alpha Academy while New Day high-tailed it out of there like on WrestleMania Sunday. Iyo Sky would face Stephanie Vaquer for it to be interrupted by two more NXT stars Perez would run in as would Giulia who attacked Sky. Then Ripley’s music hit. She ran down to save the day. Save the day she did as she would hand Sky her Title.

Second Half Of Raw

The second half would see Jey Uso come down to the ring to keep celebrating with the crowd, but then Sami Zayn’s music hit for him to come down to also celebrate with his friend telling him he wanted to be the first to stand across from him and tell him he deserved that title. Jimmy Uso would also come down for the three to have a moment together in the ring. Gunther would come down after a commercial break to be at the commentary table shouting at Michael Cole. Cole said, “Not for nothing, but I’m not the one who tapped out.”

Gunther would grab Cole to try and put him in a sleeper hold, but before he could, Pat McAfee would punch the former champ. WWE officials would come down to try and separate the two, but Gunther would get through them to put McAfee in a sleeper hold till he was unconscious. As that was going on McAfee’s entourage would jump the barricade to try to help their friend. Cole told Raw GM Adam Pearce that they have to have opinions it’s their job. Cole would go back out to finish the show without McAfee.

Raw’s end was the best part by far. Rollins and Heyman would go out to the ring only to be quickly interrupted by Punk who walked to the ring as he was taping up his wrist for a fight. Punk would beat down Rollins in the corner then turned his attention to Heyman. That would be a mistake as Rollins gouged his eyes and hit a stomp. Heyman would announce that Rollins was the new reigning, defending number-one star in this industry before Roman Reign’s music hit and he ran down to hit Rollins with a spear.

Then he would Superman Punch Heyman and try to spear him only to be speared by Bron Breakker. Breakker would also spear Punk who was about to attack Rollins. Rollins then hugged Breakker saying “That’s my boy”. Rollins then sent Breakker outside the ring to eventually spear Reigns through the barricade. Rollins then instructed Breakker to bring Reigns back into the ring to watch him stomp Punk only to then stomp him to end the show.

Final Thoughts

This was one of the better Raw’s after WrestleMania in recent years. The action and storytelling were amazing. It also left us wanting more as fans. Stay tuned for our Smackdown recap on Total Apex Media.
