Night 2 of WrestleMania 41 has a loaded card. Choosing the top 3 matches of the night was not an easy task. Stephanie McMahon would be the one who opened up night 2 of WrestleMania 41. It would be a difficult task to choose the top three matches of night two. Becky Lynch returned to action after a year’s absence and would John Cena breaking the record be worthy of my top three matches of WrestleMania 41 night two?

Women’s World Heavyweight Championship- Rhea Ripley V Bianca Belair V Iyo Sky (C)

The match that kicked off the night was damn sure good enough to take one of my top three matches. The champ Iyo Sky would start this match with a flurry of offense indicating she was sick of being overlooked as champion in the build-up to this match. Belair and Ripley would have moments of offense but Sky would continue to cut them off with more of her offense.

Momentum would continue to swing in each opponent’s favor, but no one would maintain control for more than a couple of minutes. Belair would hit a 450 moonsault on Sky, but Ripley would break up the three-count. Ripley would go on to hit RipTide on Belair for a two-count. Ripley would focus on Sky taking her to the second rope to try a RipTide before Sky would reverse it with a Rana. Sky would then attempt her Over The Moonsault but Ripley would get her feet up blocking it. That sent Sky into Belair who hit a K.O.D. on Sky.

Belair would attempt a pin on Sky, but Ripley broke up the count on two. Ripley would then counter out of K.O.D only for Belair to counter out of Riptide. Belair would whip Ripley with her braid. Belair would then hit K.O.D and pin Ripley only for Sky to hit her Over the Moonsault on both of them. She would pin Belair to retain her title at WrestleMania 41.

IC Title Match- Bron Breakker (C) V Finn Balor V Penta V Dominik Mysterio

This fatal four-way for the IC title was probably the best in terms of action at WrestleMania 41. Balor and Mysterio would work together early in the match but that would not last long. It would take a turn when Mysterio almost got the win with a roll-up pin on Penta after Carlito pulled down the top rope sending Breakker crashing to the floor. Carlito would not be finished there again intervening breaking up a Penta pin on Mysterio.

Carlito would try and put Penta through the commentary desk. Before that happened, Breakker would run on top of the commentary table to spear Carlito through the table. Breakker and Penta would get back in the ring with Breakker spearing Penta only to be 619’ed by Mysterio. Mysterio would go to the top rope. But before he could attempt his frog splash, Balor knocked Mysterio from the top rope so he could hit his Cup de Grace. As Balor covered, Mysterio would come off the top rope with a Frog Splash to pin Balor and become the new Intercontinental Champion.

WWE Undisputed Championship- Cody Rhodes (C) V John Cena

The main event of WrestleMania 41 night two was almost cut from my top three matches. The reason was that I felt this was an underwhelming title change that broke the record. I feel Cena’s heel change was for no reason at all. The Rock did not even show up. He sent Travis Scott instead to be a distraction. Cena would hit an AA on Rhodes to kick out at two. That is when Scott’s music hit. He slowly strolled to the ring as Cena sat there smiling as if he saw his baby for the first time.

As Scott got into the ring, Cena raised his hand only for Rhodes to hit a Cross Rhodes on Cena and go for the pin. Scott pulled on the ref, stopping the count. Rhodes would then dare Scott to get in the ring which he did. Standing face to face in the middle of the ring, Scott went for a punch to the face, but Rhodes stopped it and hit a Cross Rhodes on Scott. Cena would then try to blindside Rhodes with a title shot to the head. Rhodes stopped it by taking the belt from Cena.

Cena would then look to beg Rhodes not to hit him. Cena told Rhodes he would be forced to choose between good or bad. Rhodes would not hit Cena only for Cena to low blow Rhodes. Cena would pick the title up and crack him in his skull to his 17th title. It beat Ric Flair’s record for most World Title wins.

Final Thoughts On WrestleMania 41

WrestleMania 41 was not what I expected it to be this year. The Rock not showing up after Cena turned heel for him was a missed moment. The overall grade would get a B because of the triple threat on Saturday that saved WrestleMania 41. I feel the best match from night two was the fatal four-way for the IC Title. The bumps from that match were great. Stay tuned for the Monday Night Raw recap on Total Apex Media.
