WWE is reportedly exploring an unconventional idea for an event on the WrestleMania weekend calendar. Much like Comedy Central does when they roast actors, athletes, and celebrities, WWE is discussing a special comedy roast event following WrestleMania 41.
According to a well-placed source, WWE has discussed an “outside-the-box†idea of running a post-WrestleMania event in Las Vegas on Sunday night, 4/20. We’re told the concept would be ‘The Roast of WrestleMania,’ featuring comedic megastar Tony Hinchcliffe.— WrestleVotes (@WrestleVotes) March 13, 2025
According to WrestleVotes, WWE has entertained the idea of holding “The Roast of WrestleMania” in Las Vegas on Sunday night, April 20, 2025. The event would feature comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, known for previous roasts and a controversial speech during a Donald Trump rally. He is an avid WWE fan and if he hosts, he would be leading a lineup of comedic personalities and wrestling figures. He really made a name for himself during the Tom Brady roast on Netflix.
This proposed event would take the traditional Comedy Central Roast format. For fans who have never seen one, a panel of guests humorously roast one selected celebrity, while also taking shots at each other. Comedy Central’s roasts have been a television staple since their premiere in 2003, but have really risen in popularity, creating some serious momentum for the comedians who get involved, such as Nikki Glaser.
If WWE moves forward with this idea, it would be an interesting event. Fans on social media were divided on the idea, many wondering how roasting an entire show would work. There were also thoughts on the choice of host.
WrestleMania 41 is set to take place over two nights on April 19 and 20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, NV. The addition of a comedy roast to the lineup would make an already-packed WrestleMania week even busier. Other scheduled events for the week include:
As of now, WWE has not officially confirmed the event, but with WrestleMania 41 still a few weeks away, more details are expected to emerge. If the concept is approved, “The Roast of WrestleMania” could become a staple event each year, assuming the show doesn't go badly off the rails.
