20 unforgettable Hollywood age gap relationships

For better or worse, one of Anna Nicole Smith’s defining characteristics is that she was married to J. Howard Marshall. The two were 63 years apart, and it didn’t seem like a genuine love connection from the outside. But the two were together for years before actually getting married, so who’s to say what really went on between them? 

Billy Joel has had an affinity for younger women for a while. He’s been married to a woman, Alexis Roderick, over 30 years his junior, for over a decade. Before that, he was married for about five years to a woman who’s also over 30 years younger: Food Network chef Katie Lee. 

Leonardo DiCaprio famously doesn’t date women in their 30s, but his former relationship with Camila Morrone is of particular note. She was just 20 years old when the two started dating, and it resulted in one of DiCaprio’s most memorable relationships. 

It’s not often in Hollywood that the woman in the relationship is older than the man, but such was the case for Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. The relationship was successful for a time. They were married for years, and Kutcher is reportedly still close with Moore’s daughters. 

It’s hard to forget about Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s age difference, but not for the same reason as some other couples on this list. The two are so stunning together, it’s hard to imagine that there are 20 years between them.  

Elliott Spencer and Stephen Fry have over 30 years between them. In fact, Fry was 30 years old the year Spencer was born. But the two have been married for over a decade, so their connection must be real. 

Scott Disick and Sofia Richie’s relationship went on much longer than anyone could’ve predicted. It wasn’t solely their age gap (15 years) that made people question their relationship; it was the age Richie was when they started dating (19 years). 

Harrison Ford’s wives have just gotten younger. After his first two marriages ended in divorce, Ford tried again with Calista Flockhart, a woman about 22 years his junior. Younger might be better for Ford, though. His marriage to Flockhart could very well outlast his other two.

Many people had trouble making sense of Al Pacino and Noor Alfallah’s relationship, especially when she gave birth to his child. The two are 54 years apart, meaning Pacino is older enough to be Alfallah’s grandpa. 

Is there anything more rock and roll than marrying someone decades younger than you? Rod Stewart might tell you that there’s not. He’s been with Penny Lancaster for nearly two decades despite their over 30-year age gap. 

Mick Jagger was married for several years in the 1970s and had several long-term relationships after his divorce. His most recent with Melanie Hamrick might be the most interesting to fans, though, on account of their 44-year age gap.  

Dennis Quaid and Laura Savoie’s age gap is one of the more significant in Hollywood. There are 40 years between them. But what makes it particularly unique is that Quaid famously played a man in an age gap relationship. He manifested his future life through The Parent Trap. 

Nicolas Cage has been married a lot. The actor’s first marriages were to women close in age, but they’ve slowly gotten younger. His fifth wife, Riko Shibata, is 31 years younger than he is. 

Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor have been together for years, making their relationship work despite their 31-year age gap. Paulson has made many comments through the years about the judgments she and Taylor get for their age difference. 

Cher and Alexander “A.E.” Edwards are another Hollywood example of women out-aging men. But it somehow makes total sense with Cher. She may be 40 years older than her boyfriend, but she doesn’t look it. 

Just about anything Mary-Kate Olsen does makes headlines, but her life was of particular interest to people when she was in a relationship with Olivier Sarkozy. The banker is 17 years older than the fashion designer, and it took many of her fans by surprise. 

Steven Tyler’s first marriage ended the same year his current girlfriend, Aimee Preston, was born. The duo is nearly 40 years apart in age. 

An age gap between a successful actor and his second wife is not surprising. What is surprising is how many children Alec Baldwin had after getting together with Hilaria Baldwin. But hey, the more the merrier. 

David Foster and Katharine McPhee have over 30 years between them. They first met when McPhee was a very young woman on American Idol, and now they have a child together. It seems to be their love of music that keeps them together. 

The life of a successful actor must always be exciting. How else could men the age of Patrick Stewart meet their much younger partners? Stewart’s wife, Sunny Ozell, is 38 years younger than he is.
