The 2024 season was a complete disaster for the Chicago White Sox, as they set an MLB Modern Era record with 121 losses. So far, this season has also been rough for the White Sox early on, as they sport a 2-7 record. This includes losing each of their last five games.

However, the White Sox have gotten a bit of a boost, as the team activated former New York Yankees outfielder Mike Tauchman from the 10-day injured list on Sunday. With this, the Palatine, Illinois native is fully healthy, which is certainly great news for both the player and the White Sox.

Tauchman, 34, suffered a hamstring strain back during Spring Training, which caused him to miss the beginning portion of this season. However, he is now healthy and made an immediate impact in his season debut against the Detroit Tigers on Sunday.

During the bottom of the sixth inning, Tauchman robbed Tigers outfielder Manuel Margot of a hit by making an incredible sliding catch. Tauchman also had a decent day at the plate, going 1-for-3 and recording a walk.

Tauchman signed a one-year, $1.95 million contract with the White Sox during the offseason. He is expected to be a solid part of their roster and offers them another player with a decent amount of experience for their depth.

In 475 career major league games over eight seasons split between the Colorado Rockies, Yankees, San Francisco Giants, Chicago Cubs, and White Sox, Tauchman has 32 home runs, 155 RBIs, and a .241 batting average. It will be fascinating to see how he builds on these numbers with the White Sox now that he is healthy from here.
