Injury Update for Arizona Diamondbacks superstar Ketel Marte

The Arizona Diamondbacks organization has given an injury update on D-Backs star second baseman Ketel Marte.

It seems like there still isn’t an exact timetable for his return, although D-Backs manager Torey Lovullo mentioned that Marte will miss, “a series of weeks.” While the Diamondbacks have also classified it as a grade one hamstring sprain, they will be cautious rushing him back as he has had hamstring injuries in the past. Usually a grade one hamstring injury can last anywhere from two to three weeks but each case is different.

It’s purely a rough guesstimate but it seems like Marte could very well miss all of April and into parts of May. He will be resting up until the D-Backs will gradually get him into baseball activities.

Ketel Marte is coming off of one of the best seasons of his career, where he was in the NL MVP race, and had 36 home runs while hitting a .292 batting average. This 2025 season, Marte started off just as hot at the plate, as he has already has three doubles with a .346 batting average through the first eight games of the season before his unfortunate hiccup of this hamstring injury.

Garrett Hampson and Tim Tawa, who made his MLB Debut against the Nationals last Saturday, will be holding it down at second base until Ketel Marte can get healthy. Geraldo Perdomo seems to have taken over Ketel Marte’s spot in the lineup for the time being as well, with his electric skills at the plate this season. He has been the leadoff hitter against lefties, and second in the lineup against right-handed pitchers.

The Snakes will be hoping to get their star second baseman and MVP candidate back hopefully sooner rather than later.
