The Los Angeles Dodgers have started off the 2025 MLB season strong. Through 10 games, they hold a 9-1 record and have not shown signs of slowing down.

After another impressive offseason, the Dodgers are the favorites to win another World Series. They improved dramatically from what they were last season when they won a championship.

One of their big offseason additions was star starting pitcher Blake Snell. He was signed to a huge five-year, $182 million contract to add another elite pitcher to the Los Angeles rotation.

Just 10 games into the season, the Dodgers have received some brutal news regarding Snell.

According to an announcement directly from the team, Los Angeles has placed Snell on the 15-day injured list due to shoulder inflammation.

Snell missed quite a bit of time last season due to injury with the San Francisco Giants. Hopefully, this is not a situation that nags him long-term.

So far this season with the Dodgers, Snell has made two starts. he has compiled a 1-0 record to go along with a 2.00 ERA, a 2.00 WHIP, four strikeouts, eight walks, and 9.0 innings completed.

In a corresponding move, Los Angeles called up right-hander Matt Sauer to take Snell's spot on the active roster.

Sauer is a 26-year-old starter who pitched in 14 games in a reliever role with the Kansas City Royals last yer. He recorded a 7.71 ERA, a 2.08 WHIP, nine strikeouts, and 11 walks in 16.1 innings of work without a decision.

Fans will just have to wait and see how long this injury impacts Snell.
