NFL coordinators have been under the microscope recently, especially after the Detroit Lions lost to the Washington Commanders in the NFC divisional round. Subsequently, Detroit's coordinators Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn accepted head coaching positions with the Chicago Bears and New York Jets, respectively.

Perhaps the blowback from the media and fans about seeking jobs while still participating in the playoffs motivated Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady to announce he would not participate in a second interview with the New Orleans Saints for their head coach job. Instead, he would stay with the Bills into next season.

The 35-year-old coach joined the Bills staff in 2022 as the team's quarterbacks coach. In 2023, he was named interim offensive coordinator, replacing former OC Ken Dorsey.

He has held the position through the 2024 season, leading the Bills to the second-best scoring average (30.9 points per game) this season.

Buffalo is ninth in both passing yards per game (227.9) and rushing yards per game (131.2).

Bills quarterback Josh Allen has enjoyed a prolific season statistically, passing for 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also added 531 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns on the ground.

For most of the NFL season, Allen has been the favorite to win NFL MVP. He was named a finalist for MVP, along with Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, Lions quarterback Jared Goff and Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson.

The Saints virtually interviewed Brady on January 17 and planned a second interview before Brady's cancellation.
