Even though this doesn’t seem like a big move for the Buccaneers, I actually really like this. Bryce Hall will be brought back on a vet minimum one-year deal as the likely CB3. I liked the signing when we made it last year and nothing much has changed regarding my feelings for that.
Obviously breaking his leg was really tough and we could’ve used him considering the options we had to turn to. But he is a solid back-up and a great depth piece. And, let’s face it, we need a good depth piece. Jamel Dean will be injured at some point in the season. This fact does not make me happy, but it is likely true. He always misses time, so why should I expect that to be different. It seems obvious at this point that the Bucs will keep Jamel Dean considering nobody out there right now is better. While it is possible he ends up supplanting Dean, it probably won’t happen. This won’t stop them from taking a corner early, maybe even in the first round. There have been a lot of people suggesting Jahdae Barron. I wonder who was the first to say that? At the end of the day, I will take anything to keep Tyler Funderburnt off the field.
