The Kansas City Chiefs, no matter what, always seem to find the right players to replace the players who left the previous team. The Chiefs are going to have to do that once again before the 2025 NFL season kicks off.

The Chiefs lost a lot of players this offseason in free agency. Even with the team signing their free agents, they will still need to fill up the remaining areas on the roster.

The 2025 draft will be important for the Chiefs because of all the areas they still need to address. The Chiefs are looking to get better for the 2025 season, but right now, they are not set up to have a better defense than they did last year. On the offensive side, they still need to find the best protection for quarterback Patrick Mahomes and to allow the Chiefs to have a running game.

But there is no panic in Kansas City because general manager Brett Veach has done a good job of finding players in the draft, and the coaching staff, led by head coach Andy Reid, has done a good job of getting the players that they drafted ready to play at the NFL level.

An example of that was center Creed Humphrey, whom the Chiefs drafted in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Humphrey has been one of the best centers in the NFL since coming into the league.

FOX Sports named Humphrey one of the best day two picks over the last 10 years.

Unlike 2019, the top players selected on Day 2 of the 2021 NFL Draft were mostly in the trenches. Humphrey, though, stands out above the rest, earning three Pro Bowl nods in his career as he's helped Kansas City win three Super Bowls.

Not all of the team's best players from the draft come from the 1st-round. The Chiefs will need to have a good draft, and getting the right players outside of the first round will go a long way in having a successful 2025 season.

It is going to be interesting to see what side of the ball the Chiefs go after to start the draft and if they will mix it up every other round. The Chiefs will be contenders next season, but a good draft can make them clear favorites.
