Did latest development change Steelers' opinion of Aaron Rodgers?

Aaron Rodgers spoke publicly about his future on Thursday for the first time since the start of free agency, and the star quarterback provided very little clarity. The Pittsburgh Steelers reportedly still are not concerned, however.

Rodgers said during an appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" that some members of his inner circle are dealing with personal issues. The 41-year-old did not rule out retirement, though he said he has had good conversations with multiple teams.

According to Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh, the Steelers remain optimistic that they will be able to sign Rodgers.

One former NFL general manager believes Rodgers' latest comments should serve as a warning to the Steelers that they need to go in a different direction. But with Mason Rudolph looking like their only other option, it is not exactly a shock that Pittsburgh remains dug in on Rodgers.

Plus, Steelers head Mike Tomlin reportedly believes he can win a Super Bowl with Rodgers as his quarterback.

One theory is that Rodgers has been dragging his feet to see if the Minnesota Vikings will eventually show interest in him. The former NFL MVP shot that down during his interview with McAfee.

Things will really get interesting for the Steelers if Rodgers does not make his decision prior to the NFL Draft, which is less than a week away.
