Mason Crosby to retire with Green Bay Packers

Former kicker Mason Crosby will officially retire as a member of the Green Bay Packers, according to a release from the team. He played in Green Bay from 2007-22.

Crosby was a sixth round selection in the 2007 NFL Draft out of Colorado. The Packers legend played in 258 regular season games and 23 postseason games in Green Bay.

Crosby ranks No. 1 in team history for games played and consecutive games played (258). His 16 seasons are tied for the second-most in franchise history, behind former teammate Aaron Rodgers (18 seasons).

Following the 2022 season, Crosby wasn’t signed by any team until the Los Angeles Rams put him on their practice squad in December of 2023. He was released after a week.

The New York Giants added Crosby to their practice squad later that month following an injury to kicker Cade York. Crosby ended up being promoted to the active roster and played in three games, going five-of-seven on field goals.

Crosby helped the Packers win Super Bowl XLV during the 2010 season and went three-of-four on field goals and 16-of-16 on extra points. His best postseason came in 2014 in two games, going seven-of-seven on field goals.

Over the course of his career, Crosby went 400-492 on field goals, kicking at an 81.3% clip. He was 739-760 on extra points in his career (97.2%).

Crosby’s career long on a made field goal was 58 yards. He also holds the record for most consecutive postseason field goals with 23.

As a rookie, Crosby was the NFL’s scoring leader, but was actually not named a Pro Bowler throughout his career.

While in college at Colorado, he was the Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Year in 2005, a two-time First-Team All-American and was a three-time First-Team All-Big 12 member.
