Las Vegas Raiders superstar Maxx Crosby will go down as one of the best small-school prospects in NFL history.
Drafted out of Eastern Michigan University in 2019, Crosby had to work hard to get to the level he has reached today. His unmatched work ethic has lead him to tremendous success, and he is now taking younger Raiders players under his wing. Crosby has taken the challenge of being the face of the franchise seriously, and the Raiders rewarded him with a three-year, $106.5 million extension in March.
Now, Crosby’s leadership skills will be required outside of the Raiders.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Crosby has been named the Assistant General Manager for Football at Eastern Michigan.

With this, Crosby becomes the first active NFL player to hold a management position in the NCAA.
In his new position, Crosby will be responsible for helping his alma mater evaluate potential new players out of high school and the transfer portal. He will also manage the school’s NIL budget for incoming players, as well as assist the athletics department on various matters. Needless to say, it is quite the undertaking for Crosby to accept, alongside his normal duties with the Raiders.
Crosby joining his old team in this position could open the gateway for other NFL players to be more active in their school’s football programs. With former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick joining the University of North Carolina as another example, the crossover between the NFL and college football has never been more apparent.
