Despite having numerous pitching woes up in the majors, the Marlins have a pair of aces down in the Minors, Noble Meyer and Thomas White. Craig Mish of the Miami Herald reports that both pitching prospects will represent the Marlins in this year’s Futures Game in Arlington, Texas.
The Miami Marlins used their top two picks in the 2023 draft on high school pitchers Thomas White and Noble Meyer. They immediately became two of the team’s top prospects, as Meyer is a top 100 prospect overall, and White was the top left-handed prep pitcher available in the draft.
The Miami Marlins have focused heavily on pitching prospects. In last year’s MLB Draft, the Marlins used both of their first round picks on prep pitchers, taking lefty Thomas White and righty Noble Meyer with picks #35 and #10, respectively.
